For comparison, the M1 MacBook Air was released in November 2020, and I expect it will still be supported in this year’s macOS 27 release. Apple have already announced that this release will drop support for Intel Macs; it would be aggressive to drop M1 support at the same time, especially as an M1 MacBook Air was on sale at Walmart until a few weeks ago. If so, the M1 will get macOS updates until at least autumn 2027, and security updates until 2029 – a nine year span. Suddenly, running my M4 Mac mini for ten years doesn’t feel so ridiculous.

Finally, the Fogwise Airbox Q900 is the outlier on this list. A Qualcomm IQ-9075 with 36GB of LPDDR5 at $590 isn’t really a traditional SBC purchase. Geekbench scores of 1,111 SC / 5,638 MC are strong but actually fall behind the CIX P1 boards that cost a third of the price. The Airbox’s value proposition is in its Qualcomm AI stack and the specific edge deployment use cases it’s designed for, not general-purpose compute. If you know you need it, you know you need it. For the rest of us, it’s interesting to see where the high end of the SBC market is heading, but $590 is a lot of money for a single board computer.。业内人士推荐超级权重作为进阶阅读
